It is a battle at times to pursue the lovely and not give way to the murky waters. If we allow the murky to infiltrate our thoughts is will tarnish the shine of joy. The news of recent around the world is beyond the files I currently hold within my mind. While filtering through and trying to assimilate the barrage of thoughts I become exhausted and hopeless. It begins the self-questioning and ask if I am the crazy one or these storylines are crazy. It could be a mix of both! The thoughts become cluttered and are going down one-way streets the wrong way looking for the designated place to park in your understanding. It is so important to value what is steadfast and know what blesses your mind. Discern what you will read, listen to, or discuss. Ask yourself if it is beneficial, necessary or just chaotic noise. Guard your mind!
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
I was overwhelmed, gave up, and went to the bed wo have a session of wtf self-talk. Words and info we receive now flow at a faster speed that the processing our minds can do, thus the overload, backup and clogged feeling. It is TOO much literally. Overwhelming is mandatory response for your humaness with all the intake everywhere we go. I had a friend tell me just last night: Listen to the Lord not the news! Those few words created the impact I needed.....I cannot argue those words of wisdom. It feels so much better listening to that still small voice instead of the clanging of all that is not love on the news. Do not deceived!
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Perhaps when things get a little loud......take a knee, open Gods word, and take a trip down that rabbit hole! There IS light at the end of that tunnel!
